Marcelo Mello is a senior partner of MMA. Mr. Mello practice focuses on wide range of corporate, mergers & acquisitions transactions, business contracts, regulatory, foreign investments regulations, construction contracts (EPCs, EPCMs, BOO, BOT, etc.) and finance and loans instruments.
Having more than 30 year-experience as business lawyer, his solid experience encompasses full legal advice on drafting and negotiation of oil and gas (upstream, midstream and downstream) and related contracts and projects, such as granting instruments (concession, license, production sharing agreements), Joint Bidding Agreements, AMI agreements, Joint Operating Agreements, Unitization and Pooling Agreements, Service Contracts (G&G, well drilling, completion, intervention, reworking, equipment supply services), facilities construction contracts (EPC, EPCM, BOT, BOO, etc. for pipelines, terminals, platforms, processing units, LNG terminals).
His practice also includes power generation, transmission, water treatment and sewage units and mining regulatory framework and related agreements, loans, finance and insurance related agreements; and dispute resolution (litigation, arbitration, and expert testimony), including boundary, assets expropriation and nationalization disputes.
In addition to energy sector, Marcelo Mello’s practice also focus on cross-border commercial and business transactions and advice for Brazilian groups on business globalization and foreign investments regulations in Brazil. In this area, he provides wide range of legal advice, including corporate, investment and tax planning, immigration and labor visa for foreign investors, legal aspects for corporate governance, business and organizational restructuring and compliance program implementation.
